Consignment PCB Assembly — Customer-Supplied Parts

You supply the components, we provide world-class assembly. Ideal for customers with existing component inventory, preferred suppliers, or allocation-constrained parts.

Consignment PCB assembly (also called customer-supplied or 'bring your own parts' assembly) gives you full control over your component supply chain while leveraging Kingdta's assembly expertise and quality systems. This model is ideal for customers who have existing component inventory, have negotiated pricing with specific distributors, or are working with allocation-constrained parts during component shortages. We also offer partial turnkey assembly where you supply some components and we source the rest.

IQC Incoming Inspection

All customer-supplied components undergo incoming quality control (IQC) inspection before assembly.

We flag any component shortages or quality issues before assembly begins, not after.

BOM Review & Kitting List

We review your BOM and provide a kitting list specifying exact quantities, packaging requirements, and any special handling notes for each component.

Component Shipment to Kingdta

You ship components to our facility. We recommend using ESD-safe packaging and including a packing list matching the kitting list.

IQC Incoming Inspection

All received components are inspected: count verification, visual inspection, and cross-check against datasheet specifications. Any discrepancies reported within 24 hours.

Kitting & Production

Components kitted per board and loaded onto production equipment. Assembly proceeds per standard SMT/DIP process.

AOI, X-Ray & Testing

Full inspection and testing per standard process. No shortcuts because components are customer-supplied.

Excess Return & Shipment

Excess components counted, packaged in original or equivalent packaging, and returned with completed boards.

Consignment Assembly for an ITAR-Controlled Radar Signal Processor

A US defense electronics contractor manufacturing a radar signal processor board — using consignment assembly for all ICs (ITAR-controlled components that cannot leave customer custody) while Kingdta sources all passive components and connectors.

The Problem

The customer needed to maintain full chain-of-custody control over their ITAR-controlled ICs (FPGAs, DSPs, and custom ASICs) while outsourcing the assembly labor and passive component sourcing. Our Solution

We established a dedicated storage area for the customer's ITAR components with access restricted to the assigned production team. A chain-of-custody log records every component movement from receipt to board assembly, with operator ID, timestamp, and quantity. Customer components are stored in a locked ESD-safe cabinet with a dual-key access procedure. All passive components are sourced exclusively from Digi-Key, Mouser, and Arrow with full distributor certificates of conformance. Assembly is performed in a dedicated work area with no other customer's materials present. MIL-PRF-31032 documentation is generated for every production lot.
